Vineyard Mira Luna in Provence

In the heart of Provence, in a hilly landscape where the earth takes a shade of red ochre hue, lies the enchanting area of Mira Luna. This estate is part of the historic Miraval estate and extends over nearly 100 hectares of rolling Provencal garrigue and pine and oak forest.

The Mira Luna terroir is characterized by clay-limestone soils and a dry Mediterranean climate benefiting from cool nights related to altitude.

This exceptional terroir allows the grape varieties to express themselves frankly and fully, producing wines that are fresh, aromatically complex and perfectly balanced.

A real mosaic of preserved natural environments, Mira Luna is a land conducive to the diversity and sustainability of the species that live there.

Oak and pine forests, poplar and streamside ash groves, meadows, scrubland of Juniper, Cistus, Thyme, Lavender and Rosemary: the richness of the habitats present within Mira Luna allows the animal and plant species it shelters to thrive.

Bee of Mira Luna in Provence

Our vines are grown in organic farming and according to the principles of biodynamics, with care and passion by our Head of Cultivation and his team, having at heart to offer you the best quality by favoring low yields and very limited productions.

Harvest & Winemaking

Meticulous work in the vineyards and a rigorous selection of grapes and vintages produce pure, expressive and intense wines.

Vendanges manuelles au Domaine Mira Luna en Provence

Our grapes are harvested when ripe, after checking the sugar/acidity balance, and are hand-picked at night for pressing in the early hours of the morning when temperatures are still cool. Each plot is harvested and extracted separately and the first fraction obtained by pressing is vatted and vinified separately.

After winemaking, the best vintages are carefully selected thanks to the talent of our oenologist to become your wines. The rest of the vintages are sold in bulk, and are not used in Mira Luna wines.

A marriage of Syrah and Cinsault variety for a crisp and delicious rosé from Provence!

Organic Rosé de Provence wine Mira Luna

For this fresh and aromatic wine, we have chosen with our oenologist to marry Syrah with Cinsault, two grape varieties that express themselves admirably well on Mira Luna.

Syrah brings to this wine its intense and fruity character that Cinsault magnifies by its freshness and finesse, all dressed in a beautiful salmon color.

Harvest

Harvest by hand the night of September 14, 2023

Winemaking method

. Gentle low pressure pressing in reducing environment and vatting of the first fraction only. . Alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature to promote aromatic complexity. . Maturing on fine lees, then clarification by natural sedimentation.

Selected plot

Syrah and Cinsault varieties that offer us this rosé wine are grown on undulating plots on the hillside and bathed in sunshine thanks to a South - South West exposure. The particularly abundant limestone pebbles on these plots accumulate and then restore the heat of the day during cool nights, and thus allows the full aromatic expression of the beautiful Syrah.
