Red wine Syrah Mira Luna

Sensory experience

A real crush for this beautiful expression of Syrah on the exceptional terroir of Mira Luna, all in complexity and elegance, with a velvety mouth with intense aromas of black fruits married to notes of mocha and slightly aniseed leaving room for a finish with accents of garrigue and sweet spices.
Marion, Mira Luna oenologist

Robe

Purple, bright and deep with violet reflections

Nose

Intense aromas of black fruits such as blackberry and cassis mixed with notes of garrigue (thyme, cistus) and sweet spices.

Palate

A full, tender and velvety attack. The fruit aromas are revealed with intensity with the cherry bigarreau that completes the aromatic palette, married to notes of mocha and menthol, and leaving room for a finish with notes of thyme, liquorice and clove. The tannins are powerful and already very silky.

Food & wine pairing

This wine combining complexity, elegance and caleurosity will accompany your dishes rich in taste.

So, combine it without hesitation to your Mediterranean dishes: aioli, grilled fish, meat and vegetables, tian, ratatouille, anchoïade or pissaladière. And of course with your dishes with herbs from Provence (thyme, rosemary,...) or spices such as cumin, curry, anise, fennel or cardamom.

It will accompany all your stews, stews, compotes and candied dishes, and of course your mushroom or truffle dishes.

Ideal to accompany a tray of cheeses character, it will extend the pleasure with a chocolate dessert.

Terroir & culture

Mira Luna, the “Wonderful Moon”, invites you to discover and savor the purity and authenticity of a secret, unspoiled Eden.

Vignes du Domaine Mira Luna

In the heart of Provence, in a hilly landscape where the earth takes a shade of red ochre hue, lies the enchanting area of Mira Luna. This estate is part of the historic Miraval estate and extends over nearly 100 hectares of rolling Provencal garrigue and pine and oak forest.

The Mira Luna terroir is characterized by clay-limestone soils and a dry Mediterranean climate benefiting from cool nights related to altitude.

This exceptional terroir allows the grape varieties to express themselves frankly and fully, producing wines that are fresh, aromatically complex and perfectly balanced.

Domaine Mira Luna - lin sauvage

Our vines are grown in organic farming and according to the principles of biodynamics, with care and passion by our Head of Cultivation and his team, having at heart to offer you the best quality by favoring low yields and very limited productions.

Harvest & Winemaking

Meticulous work in the vineyards and a rigorous selection of grapes and vintages produce pure, expressive and intense wines.

Our grapes are harvested when ripe, after checking the sugar/acidity balance, and are hand-picked at night for pressing in the early hours of the morning when temperatures are still cool. Each plot is harvested and extracted separately and the first fraction obtained by pressing is vatted and vinified separately.

An exceptional Syrah for a red wine while complexity and elegance

Vin rouge Syrah Mira Luna 2023

For this wine at once powerful and silky, infusing singular aromas of garrigue, we chose the plots of Syrah in restanques, exposed full south and scented with wild thyme.
In order to make this wine reflect with authenticity the character of the Syrah on the singular terroir of Mira Luna, we have chosen a cultivation in terracotta amphora, allowing to preserve the fruit while making the tannins silky.

Harvest

Harvest by hand the night of September 25, 2023

Winemaking method

. Destemming, pressing and embossing of grapes in concrete vats . Cold maceration of a few days to develop the fruitiness, then fermentation at controlled temperature with daily remontages. . Finally, light maceration under marc to work the fat and the creaminess of the tannins. . Placing in clay amphora for malolactic fermentation and aging on fine lies for 1 year.

Selected plot

The Syrah vines that offer us this wine of character are cultivated in restanques and bathed in sun thanks to a southern exposure. The limestone pebbles particularly abundant on these plots accumulates and then returns the heat of the day during the cool nights, and thus allows the full aromatic expression of the beautiful Syrah.
