The place
Mira Luna, the “Wonderful Moon”, invites you to discover an enchanting area, where the heavenly grace of the owl dances in harmony with the earthly agility of the wolf.
In the heart of Provence, in a hilly landscape where the earth takes a shade of red ochre hue, lies a place steeped in mystery and charm.
Located between the villages of Correns and Châteauvert in Provence, Mira Luna vineyard is part of the historic Miraval estate and extends over nearly 100 hectares of rolling Provencal garrigue and pine and oak forest in the heart of which we cultivate our vineyards and olive trees.
Located at altitude, with wide views of virgin territories of any construction, this land offers an exceptional and enchanting "heaven and earth" panorama
The view embraces the mountains of Bessillon and the foothills of Defens dug by the Argens in the beautiful Vallon Sourn, and extends to the magnetic mountain Saint Victoire to the west to take us to the wooded massif of Sainte Baume to the south.
Land of culture
Here, the land is worked respectfully by observing and listening to nature. Naturally in organic farming and according to the principles of biodynamics.
Mira Luna, our "secret terroir" in Provence
Our wines and olive oils are the expression of the unique terroir of Mira Luna made of clay-limestone earth with shades of red ochre dotted with white pebbles flooded with sun. Perched at an altitude of 350 meters, this area benefits from a very particular microclimate alternating cold nights and hot days with a temperature gradient reaching more than 25°C on the same day.
These conditions favor a slow maturation of the grapes and olives to provide us with a full expression of aromas while remaining fresh.
Here, only 8 hectares of vines and 900 olive trees are cultivated with care and passion by our vineyard manager and his team, who are committed to offering you the best quality, favoring low yields and very limited productions.
Land of biodiversity
A real mosaic of preserved natural environments, Mira Luna is a land conducive to the diversity and sustainability of the species that live there.
Here, it is not uncommon to come across a doe, a hare, an eagle owl or even a she-wolf and her cubs. Here, Nature is queen.
Oak and pine forests, poplar and streamside ash groves, meadows, scrubland of Juniper, Cistus, Thyme, Lavender and Rosemary: the richness of the habitats present within Mira Luna allows the animal and plant species it shelters to thrive.
Preserving this wealth is our priority and serves as a common thread in our agricultural practices: organic farming, plant cover, maintenance of open wild meadows, establishment of beehives, large protected areas, etc.
Mira Luna, protective cradle of the Living “Natura 2000”
The Domain Mira Luna belongs to the protected Natura 2000 Val d'Argens site allowing the preservation of natural habitats and rare and threatened species, in particular bats, turtles such as the European Pond turtle and the emblematic Hermann's tortoise and insects like these butterflies, beetles and dragonflies: the Orange-spotted Emerald, the Southern Damselfly, the Marsh Fritillary, the Stag Beetle or even the Great Capricorn beetle.
Land of stories
Land of abundance and mystery, Mira Luna has always fascinated, inspired and attracted.
Overlooking the transverse Roman road linking the Via Aurelia and the Via Julia Augusta and nestled between the two medieval villages of Correns and Châteauvert, Mira Luna is a land rich in stories and legends for millennia.
Everywhere in the estate, the old stones buried under the vegetation bear witness to this rich history.
The old stones of the “Villa Aquensa” meaning “abundance of water”, which was given to the Notre-Dame-de-Correns abbey in 1065 bythe lords of the Châteaurenard family,
but also those of the walls of restanque dating from the Middle Ages, and those of the Square Tower which overlooks the Rolle plot
or even those of the 18th century farm and its large threshing area where our ancestors beat wheat to extract flour.
Watered by springs and bathed in sunlight, a land that has always been conducive to life and agriculture
Land of inspiration, Mira Luna is part of the historic Miraval estate which belonged to the jazz composer Jacques Loussier and which inspired many artists including Pink Floyd who recorded the legendary album The Wall there.
And it is Tom Bove, an American businessman in love with wine, who, when he acquired this domain in 1992, decided to produce here wines of Provence rosés, white and red gastronomic and certified organic.
When he sold the Miraval estate in 2008 to the famous couple of American actors, Tom Bove kept around a hundred hectares of this land he loved so much, the highest and most secret part, which he named Mira Luna.
We acquired this secret green setting in 2023 and are committed to delivering to you the quintessence of what its beautiful nature offers us.
